The Manatee Observation and Education Center in Fort Pierce is a must see for people who come to town. A one dollar donation gets you in to this interactive center. While the center isn't big in size, it is big in information. The volunteers are friendly and informative. Best of all, the manatees aren't in captivity. They are free to come and go, attracted to the area by the warm waters of the nearby plant.
